Mapayapa, meaning "peace" in Tagalog, is a conceptual Filipino-American bakery born out of the gap in cultural representation in Southern Orange County.

Imagining Mapayapa
Overview
Acting as a third space, Mapayapa was built to introduce the warmth of traditional Filipino culture to corporate America by grounding the brand identity in some much needed tranquility.
I conceptualized Mapayapa's branding to blend modern design with cultural motifs using custom illustration that resonate with a widespread audience. The identity system was informed by competitive research and audience profiling, resulting in a wordmark with fluid, organic letterforms and supplemental graphics including an eight-point star, monstera leaf, and a pamaypay, a traditional handheld fan—weaving cultural authenticity at every touchpoint.
Deliverables included a full brand identity system, social media campaign design, mock-up signage, and various applications, all unified under a color palette of dusty rose, deep forest green, sage, and warm cream.
